I think both those options are about the same to me. Actually, I can't hardly stand the noise in restaurants with hearing aids in, even with the different programs. Noise is very distracting to me, I end up clenching my teeth and unable to focus. I do better without my hearing aids using my lipreading strategies instead. My main focus now when going to restaurants is lighting. Lighting can be terrible at times. When I can see better, I hear better.
