Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 Hearing Health Features: We Tried Them and Here’s Why We’re Excited
We recently had the opportunity to test Apple’s new AirPods Pro 2 hearing health features, and we were thoroughly impressed. The entire process, from start to finish, took only 7 minutes—5 minutes for the actual hearing test and a few extra minutes to explore the simple and intuitive interface that Apple is known for.
Apple’s content was clear, straightforward, and easy to understand, making the whole experience accessible and stress-free. We were particularly struck by how seamless it all felt, and we’re confident that this level of simplicity could encourage more people to make hearing health checks a regular part of their routine. The addition of annual reminders would be an excellent way to reinforce this habit and keep hearing health top of mind.
One thing we’re eager to see is whether Apple has implemented the right triggers to notify users when it’s time to consult an ENT or an audiologist. While the hearing test is a great initial tool for detection, knowing when to seek professional care is a critical step in managing hearing health effectively.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about the possibility of Apple going further by tracking listening volume trends and prompting users to take another test if they consistently listen at higher volumes. This kind of proactive care could make a significant difference in preventing hearing issues from developing or worsening.
Overall, the experience was simple and accessible, and we’re excited to see more people incorporate the AirPods Pro 2 hearing health features into their ongoing wellness routine.
